Awesome Weekend Ahead. . .

Now that I'm done chronicling the trip to Florida I'm struggling to detemrine what to write about next. Once again, I have a lot in my head but not sure what I specifically want to talk about.

Maybe I'll start with simply saying how excited I am about the upcoming weekend. You've read on the blog before about my 4-pack of girls that have established a lifelong friendship. Jill, Sarah, Alissa, and Me. . . friends for what seems like forever. . . 3rd grade. . . 5th grade. . 7th grade. . . with enough memories to complete our own series of "The Girls of Ames" books. I am lucky . . these girls are my fortress in times of sadness. . .they are my copilots in times of great joy. . and they are my biggest cheerleaders at all times. I have been blessed immensly with these girls.

This picture is a bit confusing - because Jill is holding Sarah's daughter. . and Alissa's son is napping.  But, you get the point. :)  Christmas 2009

This weekend we're all getting together with our babies and hubbys to have a fun cookout and enjoy some time together. On top of that, I get to meet the two newest babies to our crew. . . baby boys born in the past couple months. Yay! Can't wait to snuggle the babies. Between the four of us we have a 4 year old girl (mine). . a 3 year old boy (Alissa's) . . a 1 1/2 year old girl (Sarah's) . .and two fresh baby boys (Alissa's and Sarah's). Somehow the baby train passed me by very quickly while I was in Belgium and everybody got ahead of me :) Oh how life has changed since the four of us would sit around at Jill's house munching on snacks and laughing about life. Although, in reality when we get together . . not that much has changed. . . we're still the same girls who love laughter and having a good time. . . we're just a little older, wiser, and probably a bit more tired.

While we don't get to see eachother nearly as often as I'd like, we do get to see eachother as a 4-pack about once a year. Last year we were blessed enough to see eachother twice. . once at my sister's wedding. . and once at Christmas. I am not sure if we'll be as lucky this year - but I'll be thankful for anytime I get with these girls! Jill lives in Texas, Sarah lives in Kanas, and Alissa lives in Iowa, so we're spread across four states. Not an easy coordination effort. . .four girls. . four states. . . five kids. . . four husbands. . . oye! We often find times for random offshoot get together with whoever happen to be in the same state at the same time. .but I admit it makes me terribly jealous everytime I miss out on one of those.

I don't know many people who have the blessing of these types of friends in their life. The friends that you don't skip a beat with. .and who bless your socks off?

I get to round off my week with my Junior Achievement kids tomorrow. It's our last week. . bittersweet! I'm going to miss those little kindy-cuties.

Here's to an awesome weekend!
