My Five and a Half Year Old Beauty

Today was Brooklyn's half birthday.  To most of us, me included, half birthdays have never been very important.  However, when you're a summer born baby once you enter school the half birthday is a precious occurrence accompanied by cupcakes and "Happy Half Birthday to Yous" being sung. 

This morning I took Brooklyn to school along with her cupcakes and gluten free brownies to avoid them being turned upside down on the bus.  Brooklyn was very proud to have her mommy and her brother accompanying her. . .which made the early wakeup worth it. 

After school drop-off Easton and I returned home and attempted to have a somewhat normal rest of the day.  Unfortuantely because our schedule was a bit off it wasn't the easiest of days.  Hoping for some good sleep tonight.

On a positive note, Easton's umbilical cord fell of today.  I see some baths in our near future of the non-sponge variety.  This mama loves her baths and will have to live vicariously through my little ones until I can take baths again.  Let's hope that he likes real baths better than sponge baths. . . because thus far he is not a fan.
