Sneak Peak: Brooklyn's First Day at Kindergarten

I know that some of you are checking in to see how Brooklyn's first day of school went.  Most of the pictures are on Matt's camera, but I'll give you the sneak peak pics below. . . from my high quality camera phone (ha - hardly - but hey, it's something).

We woke up at 5:45 and swiftly got into the outfit that Brooklyn had picked for school.  The pink shirt with a butterfly was the chosen clothing item.  She then hunkered down to a small breakfast and headed towards the bus stop at about 6:35.  I was so relieved when we reached the top of our cul-de-sac to see that the other kindergartners' moms brought them to the bus stop too.  Three little cutie pies all waiting anxiously for their school bus.

Finally the long awaited bus arrived, complete with "Miss Jennifer" their chauffer :)  She took their names, patiently waited while the parents took pictures, and assured the kiddos she would deliver them safely to Mrs. K.  Off they went. . . headed towards the adventures that awaked them at school.

At about 11:35 I got a call from the director at Brooklyn's daycare saying that she had just arrived at the center and was so happy.  What a relief - sounds like it was an A+ day for Miss Brooklyn.

When I picked her up after wrap-around care she explained that they read Chicka Chicka  Boom Boom at school and created pictures based on the book.  She was proudly singing "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom will there be enough room".  She wasn't super eager to discuss school at length, but did say that she had a good day and was excited to go back.  She's still a little hesitant about not knowing many of the kiddos. . .but that'll pass quickly with Miss Brooklyn.

After daycare I took her to HyVee to pick out a cookie to celebrate her first exciting day.  About halfway through the drive home I turned to the backseast to find this. . . .

Oh my big girl, I promise we'll get accustomed to this schedule soon!

Here's a video of Brooklyn very disjointedly talking about her day.  Apparently she wanted to be sure to say hi to Whitney too.

Side note:  It seems that folks are having trouble commenting on blog sites.  I've been having problems too!  The only thing that seems to fix it is using Firefox instead of IE.  I have no idea why. . but that's what fixed it for me.
