Thanks for the flu shot. . .

I had to document this story because I am still laughing about it.  Today was free flu shot day in our building, and as my OB had told me to be sure to get one I didn't want to miss out.

I headed down the escalator to the medical office, signed my consent forms, and went back for the nurse to give me my shot.  She asked me to take off my sweater / cardigan so she could administer the shot.  As soon as I slid the cardigan off my right arm she said "oh how CUTE. . you have an outie" and poked my belly button a couple times, smiling. I laughed and told the nurse that I don't mind it, but that my daughter was freaked out by it (Brooklyn has told me that it's creepy and I need to be sure to keep it covered). :)

We exchanged some further pleasantries and she began to move the shot towards my arm while she asked me "So, have you always had an outie?". .and I said "Nope, just with my pregnancies" and she stopped dead in her tracks and said "Oh. . you're pregnant?"  and went on to ask if I'd spoken to my OB Gyn about getting the flu shot.  I responded that I had and she went ahead and gave me the shot.

I was having the hardest time not laughing . . thinking "Did she REALLY just repeatedly poke the belly button of a woman who she thought wasn't pregnant?"  I giggled to myself all the way back to my desk thinking about it.  Hilarious.

I'll get back to regular blogging starting tomorrow.  Hopefully Matt will edit the pictures of our St. Louis weekend soon so I can share.  Here is one of Brooklyn and Miss Sarah's daughter, P, to hold you over.

Aren't they precious?

Ahhhhhhh. There should be signs "do not touch". Pet peeve! Hope you are feeling okay!
